On The Rise is a night of poetry, spoken word and music taking back power. It's for the fighters, the protesters, and the empowered. Get together with Leeds Poetry Festival to celebrate loud voices and angry poets while we shout and sing and resist against the oppressive landscape of modern times. Join us on the 28th February at Hyde Park Book Club to celebrate incredible, disruptive poetry from local artists, Simone Yasmin, Nivetha, Lence and Vic Leeson. As poets, musicians and spoken word artists, we're calling attention to ongoing injustice and oppression in modern society. If you want to resist with us and share your own art, we'll have an open mic at the end too - get your name down on the list on the night.
