Leeds Lit Fest presents

Based in the Poetry Town, Otley, Half Moon Books have published some thirty local poets. Here they showcase five whose collections were released in the past year - Nick Allen,Boltini, Sandra Burnett, Barbara Howerska and Jo Peters. The Half Moon poets will be joined by special guests, the Pyramid of Arts Poets. 

Nick Allen – ‘the poet as naturalist, historian, elegist, social commentator and celebrant.’

Boltini – ‘it’s not all nature: it’s the human, the personal, the universal. Dare we proclaim him Rumbling Rural Sage?’

Sandra Burnett – ‘surefooted at toeing that emotional line – never straying into the sentimental’.

Barbara Howerska – ‘creates brilliantly observed character portraits in real situations … then flips into rhythmic chants from mystic times and places’.

Jo Peters – ‘an unusually accomplished poet with a fine eye for detail and an ear for the musical properties of verse.
